A fighting video game, titled Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash, developed by Byking and Gemdrops, and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, was announced in July 2023. Gojo reveals Yuji being alive during the exchange event between the Tokyo and Kyoto Jujutsu schools.

It is set to release on February 2, 2024, on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows (via Steam), Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Yuji faces Choso, the third Death Painting sibling, and is defeated, only to be spared due to Choso receiving a vision revealing they are brothers. Critical response to the manga was generally positive; several reviewers praised Yuta's role and his relationship with Rika. During the month, Shueisha also released an alternative cover featuring Yuta and Yuji to connect it with the first volume of Jujutsu Kaisen.Known in Japan as Jujutsu Kaisen Zero: Tōkyō Toritsu Jujutsu Kōtō Senmon Gakkō ( 呪術廻戦 0 東京都立呪術高等専門学校, "Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School"). The Kyoto school's principal wants Yuji dead immediately so schemes to get it done, while the Tokyo students help Yuji. The cover artwork features Yuta Okkotsu holding his dear Rika Orimoto in her human form with his left hand and his katana in the other. On the other hand, the ranking of sorcerers were made to contrast Akutami's high school which did not have such style. Gojo explains Rika did not curse Yuta; rather, when Rika died, Yuta accidentally cursed her using hidden energy he inherited from the figure Sugawara no Michizane, forcing her to remain by his side.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Iku Natsu to Kaeru Aki and Jujutsu Kaisen: Yoake no Ibara Michi were among the best-selling novel series in the first half of 2021 (period between November 2020 and May 2021), with 235,170 and 206,059 copies sold, respectively, [179] and both novels were the best-selling-novel volumes in the first half of 2021.

Akutami's first editor claimed the story was interesting but too dark and persuaded him give it a school setting much to his anger. Geto's link with Yuta through the late Sugawara no Michizane made Real Sound wonder if Akutami had planned to develop such character in the main series because it helps explain why the protagonist and his mentor are so powerful. Fans could take pictures through select locations, featuring an additional installation with characters of the series. The positive response to Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, however, led him to turn the series into the main manga, Jujutsu Kaisen. Due to Sukuna's evil nature, all sorcerers are required to exorcise him (and, by extension, Yuji) immediately.

The company also released the series on Netflix in Southeast Asia, India, Hong Kong, and Taiwan on June 3, 2021. After the finale of the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen anime television series, an anime film adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was announced. Critics found Yuta more compelling than Jujutsu Kaisen 's Yuji Itadori who, while having several similarities with Yuta, has different characterizations. The series follows Yuta Okkotsu, a young student who becomes a sorcerer and seeks to control the Cursed Spirit of his childhood friend Rika Orimoto.A second stage play based on the manga's "Kyoto Goodwill Event" and "The Origin of Blind Obedience" story arcs, is scheduled to run at The Galaxy Theater in Tokyo from December 15–31, 2023, and at AiiA 2. The concept of Rika was that of an ordinary girl who would come across as evil when being remembered.

After Yuji is able to consume several of Sukuna's fingers and kill two of the Death Paintings with Nobara's help, disfigured second-year Kyoto student Kokichi Muta, who controls the Cursed Corpse Mechamaru, is revealed to be a mole working with Geto and Mahito. It was the best-selling manga series in 2021, with over 30 million copies sold; [139] [140] its eighteen volumes at the time (including volume 0) were among the top 25 best-selling volumes. The second novel, Jujutsu Kaisen: Thorny Road at Dawn ( 呪術廻戦　夜明けのいばら道, Jujutsu Kaisen: Yoake no Ibara Michi ), was released on January 4, 2020. Since Rika is no ordinary cursed spirit, his plight is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where fledgling exorcists learn how to combat curses.
