About this deal

The seal is not quite as tight or strong as the other drummer headphones, but these headphones are also the cheapest ones featured, so that can be forgiven. These drummer headphones aren’t great for casual listening, as they feel like a pair of earmuffs that have been turned into headphones. Lukid: “Dance music can be a bit snobbish about melody - but for me, the marriage of rhythmic and melodic elements is where the magic happens” Increased exposure to loud sound levels can have a detrimental impact on musician’s hearing. An impact that could cost them their ability to successfully partake in their favourite musical pastime.

Durability is key when using headphones to play an instrument. There’s nothing more frustrating than plugging your drum kit in to get ready to play, and then you can’t hear anything coming through the earpieces.

While 29dB of isolation does seem like a lot, they don’t isolate as much as you would think. When I compare these to my Vic Firth isolation headphones, there’s no comparison. The cable needs to connect to the drum module and then make its way to one of your ears. The longer the cable, the more freedom of movement you have. If the cable is short, you’re going to feel very restricted while you play. Roland is the leading brand in the world when it comes to anything related to electronic drums. So, it’s to be expected that all the headphones they’ve released over the years work incredibly well for e-kits.

Last but not least, the Best Premium Option is the GK UltraPhones, which are built like a tank and offer 29 dB of passive isolation. The low-end is okay and the mid-range is relatively clear, however, the high-end treble range is completely missing ( at least to my ears). Many drummers experience certain headphones with cables that are too short. Drum kits are large, and the source that your headphones are connected to may be quite far away.

You know, I wonder why they even bothered to market these isolation headphones if the target demographic is drummers who play electronic kits. So, sound isolation is vital, but it’s better for getting an immersive experience. If you’re going to use the same headphones for your acoustic drums that you’re using for your electronic drums, then it’s vital. Durability
